American Safari Cruises provides specially designed interior land excursions creating the most in-depth means to experience Alaska
|
SEATTLE, WA. - New exclusive high-end Alaska pre- and post-cruise options that seamlessly maintain the level of luxury enjoyed by guests on American Safari Cruises’ yachts are being introduced for the 2008 Alaska season. Calling on the experience of a 10-year presence in Alaska, the company has created custom itineraries using a variety of properties.
“We’ve worked hard to develop shore adventures that mimic the unique nature of our yacht cruises,” says Tim Jacox, vice president of sales and marketing. “Our guests are pampered as they pursue adventure on the yachts, and happily we’ve found land components in Alaska where they’ll enjoy the same kind of experience.”
American Safari Cruises’ new signature land option is a five-day, four-night tour that features two remote fly-in wilderness lodges, Winterlake Lodge and Redoubt Bay Lodge, with included roundtrip floatplane transportation between Anchorage and the lodges. Both lodges offer complimentary wine service and gourmet dining. The itinerary includes suite accommodations at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage; two full days at Winterlake for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, world-class hiking on the Iditarod Trail, complimentary massage – even cooking classes, plus optional heli-hiking; and a full day at Redoubt Bay for a pontoon-boat excursion to a creek where bears feed. Cost begins at $3,900 per person double occupancy.
A four-day, three-night tour direct to Redoubt Bay for extended bear viewing also includes time for hiking, kayaking, sport fishing and optional flightseeing, plus a Hotel Captain Cook suite overnight in Anchorage. Cost begins at $2,030 per person double occupancy. American Safari Cruises also can tailor a land tour to include travel on the Alaska Railroad GoldStar dome train, an overnight deep inside Denali National Park with wildlife viewing, and a stay in Fairbanks.
American Safari Cruises operates four yachts in Alaska between April 30 and Sept. 13 on five itineraries, including some multiple-day visits to Glacier Bay National Park.
